QUEENS GOP HOLDS 2012 CANDIDATE SCHOOL
The Queens Republican Party will be holding its 2012 Candidate School for anyone interested in running for local office and for committee members and volunteers interested in helping to run local campaigns.
This intensive half-day seminar will cover all aspects of running campaigns for state and federal office, and is a must-attend for anyone serious about competitive campaigning. Some of the most prominent political strategists, consultants and advisors in NY will be teaching sections, sharing their knowledge and their experience in what to do and what not to do in political campaigns.
Topics covered will include How to Get Your Campaign Started, How to Work with the Party, Raising Money, Developing Your Message, Building an Organization, Working with the Media, Legal Compliance, Using the Web and New Media, and Getting out the Vote. The expert presenters will include former U.S. Senate candidate Jay Townsend, State GOP Finance Director Jason Weingartner and Urban Elephants blogger Daniel Peterson. City Councilman Dan Halloran will also speak.
Queens GOP Chairman Phil Ragusa said, “I am very pleased that we are continuing to provide this essential service to all our prospective candidates. Running for office is never easy and we have some of the most experienced campaign operatives in the state to help guide these recruits, most of who are novices. I’m especially proud of my candidate recruitment team, particularly Robert Hornak, who has worked so hard to pull this amazing seminar together.”
